General Terms

Merfolk is the common term used to describe a plethora of aquatic humanoid creatures.  Please check with the sim you currently RP on for racial limitations. Merfolk is an appropriate term to address yourself or other aquatic races.  Using the term “fish” to address a Merfolk, or yourself, is considered derogatory and offensive in Mer culture.

Lander is a common term used to describe any humanoid creature that lives on land.

Split Tail:  The ability of a Mer to transform their tail into two legs to go on land for a short amount of time

Shoal:  A community of Merfolk that live, protect and work together much like a large family.

Languages Spoken: Common and Aquatic (also known at Merish or Mermish)
