Raymer
Ray mer share much in common with their cousins the Cetorians, or shark mer. They possess a humanoid torso, but from the waist down have the wings and stinger of a ray. Ray mer are also gifted with the cartilaginous skeleton and strong powerful jaws to crush the shells of their prey. The flat bodies of Ray Mer allow them to hide on the sea floor undetected, as well as scour the sea floor for mollusks, crustaceans, and small fish.

Appearance: As before stated, Raymers have the torso of a human and the lower half of their body are the wings and stinger of ray. Their skeletal structure if cartilaginous, therefore limiting their time on land due to their weight crushing their lungs. Sighting a Raymer in land form is very rare and perhaps a foreboding sign as little would cause them to risk their life to bring them to the landers surface.
Personality: The personality of ray mer are generally laid back and curious, using their sensitive fins to explore the environment around them, but that does not mean they are without threat. The venomous barb in their stinger can bring pain, and if inflicted in a vital area, can bring about death

Strengths: Ray Mer possess the same strength as the average human. They possess keen senses, all of which are heightened: Eyesight, Smell, Taste, Hearing,and Touch. Electroreception: the ability to detect the electrical signature of prey in the water. Ray Mer can use a venomous stinger for protection, inflicting a painful injury upon an opponent. Ray mer are long-lived, and have a life expectancy of up to 1000 years.

Weakness: Ray Mer cannot be on land in merform for an extended period, as the cartilage of their rib cages crushes under their own weight, suffocating them. Merfolk are water dwellers, and are at their best in the water take this into consideration. Ray mer are not strong in humanoid form due to their lack of a true skeleton. They quickly grow weak and must return to the water in order to survive. Spells cast in landform will reflect this weakness and will not be as effective.
